"The Long and Winding Road"

Door County,  Wisconsin

I have talked to several people to find out why this road has all these twists and turns. Everyone seems to have their own explanation. Some say it’s to attract tourists, others believe it’s to slow down traffic. The best explanation I’ve heard is that’s how it was first made as a carriage trail and just never straightened out. Regardless of why, it’s sure to remain long and winding. It’s become a favorite touring attraction. Visitors love to travel down this road, especially for those few days of peak autumn color.
