"Sapphire" Crescent Lake - Lake Superior Provincial Park, Canada Lake Superior is my favorite of all the Great Lakes. And Lake Superior Provincial Park in Ontario, Canada has some of the most varied and dramatic shoreline on Superior. That just makes it seem more ironic that this image of a inland lake is my favorite from my one trip to that park. I selected the location for this image on a hike around the small lake and returned well before sunrise the next day. Knowing the exact composition I liked I spent the hour before and after sunset taking a series of shots from the same spot. Each image had it's own feel and unique experience as the ever changing light brought on a different mood. This image stood out the most due to the deep sapphire blue of the water and sky.
