"Crossing Paths"

Whitetail deer - Wisconsin

One of the most wonderful experiences a wildlife photographer can have is sharing a moment in time with the wildlife we pursue and try to capture on film. These brief encounters will forever remain imbedded in our memories. Our goal is to capture just a small portion of the spirit and life of these animals with the images we create.

I encountered this mother whitetail deer and her two young fawns in one of the several Milwaukee area parks I photograph in frequently. A walking trail winds it’s way through ideal whitetail habitat. In several areas, a well established deer trail intersects the trails I walk. It is at one of those intersections I photographed this family. As we spotted each other, we paused and glanced at one another for just a few seconds, before continuing on our respective paths.
